Q: Will my hair transplant or aspects of it be kept private?

We can assure you that the privacy of our patients is our absolute priority. We respect your right to privacy and will sign a confidentiality agreement or non-disclosure agreement in accordance with your wishes to protect your privacy. Otherwise, we will not publish photos or share information about you without your written permission or consent.

Q: Can you use a razor (or electric shaver) after a hair transplant?

It is advisable not to shorten the hair with a razor or shaving machine for at least six months after the hair transplant.

Q: Is sexual intercourse possible after hair transplantation?

We advise against having sex for up to two days after the operation. Sexual intercourse increases blood flow and blood pressure, which puts pressure on the transplanted hair roots and can push them out. Between the third (3rd) and tenth (10th) day after the hair transplant, you can be sexually active again, but you must be very careful that you do not lie with your gnach down or that neither you nor your partner touch the transplanted area. After two weeks you can resume your usual sexual activities.

Q: Is it necessary to use minoxidil after a hair transplant?

We highly recommend the use of Minoxidil (5%) spray or foam to prevent existing hair from falling out. It can be used by almost all patients to increase hair density, especially in the crown area, as the blood circulation on the crown of your head is weaker than on other parts of your scalp. Frequent use of minoxidil will increase the density of your hair. Make sure you apply it carefully with your fingertips and not with your nails. Do not hesitate to ask our medical team for further advice.

Q: Does swelling occur on the face or head after hair transplantation?

After the operation, we will put a headband on you to prevent your head or face from swelling. It is very rare for swelling to occur in the face after a hair transplant. If swelling does occur, it will disappear within a week. We recommend that you avoid salty food after the operation and drink at least 3 liters of water or unsweetened tea.

Q: Should I wash my hair every day after the hair transplant?

In the first 2 weeks after the operation, it is recommended that you wash your head carefully every day.

Q: Can I wear headgear after a hair transplant?

Wearing a cap or similar head covering should be avoided for up to 2 weeks after the operation. We can provide you with special protective headgear on request to keep your head away from environmental influences such as dust, rain and sun.
